Fine Quality Cajons, Frame Drums
and Other Noise Making Tools
Medium Size Dog Cajons are sensitive, versatile, multi-pitch and multi-tone musical instruments evolved beyond what most people know as the standard cajon. These are seriously heavy duty pieces of fine cabinetry that will last for many years, show the unique beauty of wood and make more sounds than anyone could imagine coming out of a box you sit on and whack with your hands. I build them from start to finish and hope to find more people who agree with me and want a percussion tool and means of expression that really is different. There's a youtube channel "mediumsizedog" that has demos and instructional videos. Please use headphones or good speakers. Questions? EMAIL: mediumsizedog@yahoo.com
This is a batch of what I used to call the kid size cajon until more adults wanted them. With the heavy duty rubber feet they're 14 3/4" or 37.5cm tall. A smaller, more basic box. Some have 1 playing surface of oak, which is warmer and fatter and one of birch, brighter and punchier. Sitting lower means you reach lower without bending over.
